Article System
While content is often displayed inside a Text/Html module there are times when more is required both in presentation and features to reduce update costs and time. |

You are using the Article System now.
This third party module is extremely flexible and finds many uses.
By utilising the Category feature it is possible to have just one page hold the content of many, reducing complexity for visitors and administrators.
It allows articles to be stored as Draft (not seen) and also has an approval stage.
You can also allow people to comment on articles - like the online newspapers do. |
A set of satellite modules allow for indexing and also provide a means to show short form descriptions and links of articles on other pages such as your home page.
The Article system is also very search engine friendly and can produce excellent results.
It also has its own search system and can count the number of times a page has been opened.
Includes the ability to have articles moderated before website publication and also for articles to be displayed inside a date range. |

They are all quite self-explanatory and function as you would think. |
In this image you see both the main Body editor and part of the Except or short form description editor.
This editor is used across the site as part of the Content Management System - Text HTML Module.
Edit Page & Create New Page use the same page / interface.

At the foot of the page you can make many useful choices about how the article is displayed.
The Featured setting will move the article to the top of the list.
 |
Other admin pages allow the system to be set up as a Blog with only one person able to create new pages.
We have also used this on many site to contain our User Support Guides and videos. |
